Compelling intellectual interest, theme, or question:
Broadly speaking, I’m interested in the literary and political histories of Marxist-communist translation across west Asia in the first half of the twentieth century. Titled Literary Encounters Across Turkey and the Soviet Union, my current book project focuses on the literary writings of Turkish communist and ex-communist writers educated in the Soviet Union during the 1920s and 1930s.

As I told you back in June, I can’t commit to contributing a publication to this project at the moment, but I’m open to seeing how things evolve.
